The Alpine Space area is characterized by regional economic and spatial disparities.The basic assumption of this project is that by promoting and supporting womens active participation in the local economic development processes this will contribute to achieving a more balanced sustainable development of the Alpine Space and to reducing the present disparities in living conditions of the alpine population.The project intends to support the development of common approaches and quality services in order to promote the skills and potential of women - especially those living in rural peri-alpine and disadvantaged alpine areas - thus promoting their participation in the different economic sectors. It also aims to develop a stable co-operation network among the Resource Centres for Women of the Alpine Space which, on a cross-sector and integrated basis, intend to continue working after the projects conclusion, at promoting endogenous human and economic resources on a gender based approach.
