PROJET
TERMINÉ
The title of the project is:
The acquisition of high quality knowledge of language in the spectrum of European spirit, cooperation and innovation
Our secondary school establishes general education, and pursues learning for higher studies as it is a university preparatory approved school. The acclaim of the school is based on the high standard of teaching physics, mathematics and languages. Furthermore the success of science, languages are also essential.
The project is designed to develop the participant teachers' linguistic competence in English, German and French speaking disciplines. In this present time, Europe requires more multilingual European citizens. Unfortunately, in Hungary, very few people speak foreign languages to a high standard. The improvement of the students' language skills requires many highly qualified, well-trained, enterprising teachers. Th actual project focuses both on improving linguistic competence and enhancing professional skills of the participating teachers so that they can enable their students to adapt to the expectations of the European labour market in an international multilingual backround. The preparation of the students to the life-long learning process is one of the major objectivesof our school. Currently, the 21th century schools need to be renewed, therefore the teachers of our institution have always been open to modern, learner-centred, humanistic pedagogical approaches. These courses will provide better oppurtunities for a higher quality in teaching and learning for our school.
The participants will be able to cooperate in multilingual European environments and to initiate school partnerships to enhance the on-going learning experience of students. Futhermore, they will be able to aquire new/unfamiliar student-centred teaching and approaches. (eg. cooperative teaching method, task-based learning, ICT based learning). The courses will help to enhance our skill levels in compliance of Europass mobility documentation during your staff mobility project. The participating teachers will improve their English and gain information of colleagues’ education systems and will be able to benefit from this knowledge. Our organisation will have a more European/international perspective/profile via cooperative learning environments in international groups and will benefit from our colleagues adapting their experience(s) into our school community work.
The management of our school has requested each leader of the teacher working teams to delegate several candidates to participate in the project. The participants have been elected democratically, with equal opportunity based election processes according to their professional performance and efficiency. All five nominated teachers intend to improve their professional competences and skill levels by gaining extensive knowledge from the courses they attend within the selected countries.
In the first place, the Hungarian grammar and literature and drama teacher intends to improve her English. After the nominated drama teacher has returned from the language course, she will be passing on and sharing the innovative methods gained by this experience. The three foreign language teachers (English, French & German) all have chosen oral communication based language teacher training courses where they can improve their fluency so that they can teach the oral communication more effectively in class. The PE and therapeutic physical education teacher mainly intends to improve her English to be able to lead her PE and adapted physical education lessons in English.
