In compliance with the Convention of the United Nations on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the National Disability Act, the services, necessary to lead an independent life must be granted to people living with phsycho-social disabilities as well. By launching the program of deinstitutionalization of the public social institutions Hungary set out for community-based, close-to-home services, in the course of which process it is necessary to establish a secure service system. This system should match the lifestyle and needs of the people concerned. Ability to conduct an independent life, training and working adjusted to abilities are highlights in this lifestyle model, connecting the project to the objectives of competitive and sustainable development set forth by the EU for 2020. Objectives of the project: The below mentioned components, determining the service should be: - familiarized with in practice - examining the possibility of its adaptation - planning of the preparatory training, preparing a recommendation for its introduction into the training of the experts working in the field of deinstitutionalization and also for its introduction in the institutions. Activities in the course of the project: Mobilities between the members of the consortium are prepared intensively, with the implication of providing further details of the activities, determining the aspects of the continuous evaluation, the prapartory visit, finalization of the working schedule in cooperation with the host institutions. The experts will visit a German and an Italian organization. The Italian institution has considerable experiences on the community based psychiatric services, the German one has been organizing, tailoring the services to be guaranteed after the deinstitutionalization process has been finished. We decided to work together with the above mentioned institutions on the basis of their European level activity and with the recommendation of our inter sectorial team and the Mental Health Europe. Following the mobility section of the project intensive national activity will take place, in parallel of further consultation with the visited institutions. The evaluation of the experiences and formulating the recommendations will also take place then. The consortium consists of 3 Hungarian organizations, the main applicant is the Public-Benefit Nonprofit Ltd. for the Equal Opportunities of Persons with Disabilities (“FSZK”), and it has two partners, the Hand in Hand Foundation („KA”) and the „Szigony”-fellow-passenger High priority Public-Benefit Nonprofit Ltd. for Complex Psycho-social Rehabilitation(“SZÚ”). FSZK ensures mentor services for the winners of the TIOP 3.4.1.A-11/1 „Deinstitutionalization” tender procedure, with close cooperation with the Hand in Hand Foundation. The two institutions preparing those living in the institutions concerned and also the colleagues of the institutions for the life to be led after the deinstitutionalization, while KF also responsible for the training of those, surveying the needs of the mentioned tenants. Since in the DI process two institutions, mainly working in the field of caring for persons with mental health problems is also participating, and the institution, based on the experiences gained during the operation of this service the company has created an cross-sectorial (experts on psychiatry, social working and psychology) working group, with deep knowledge of the target group of the psychiatrically affected. In the course of the work international practice, experiences on the current day care system, community based psychiatric care and community based services are considered. The “Szigony-Fellow passanger” Nonprofit Ltd., the leader of which organization is also active as a mentor, created an intersectorial (experts on psychiatry, social working and psychology) working group, with deep knowledge of the target group of the psychiatrically affected . The purpose of this group is to work out a life-style model, which gives an answer to the question of the possible ways of participation of the mentally handicapped people in the supported housing program. At the moment in Hungary there aren’t any unified methodology for the preparation of the institutional tenants, only local initiatives, attempts are in process. One of the host organizations that are planned in this mobility project is an Italian an the other is a German. Both of them apply such a novel methodology which hasn’t been known in Hungary yet that thanks to their results in high percentage can (re)integrate the persons with psychic illness into the ’real life’. The Italian partner is trying to provide complete life for its clients by the pleasure of soccer and other team games while the German partner can present the operation of a complete and common support system for the persons with disability who are moving into the flats by the complex organization of the services .
