In the mobility project entitled „The Best Catering Trainees of the Future” our school would like to make use of its successful and active international connections. Our programme is based on a multilateral cooperation in progress for 8 years. In accordance with our work programme we provide our students with the opportunity to learn and develop in the field of catering. The venue can be found in 4-star hotels with international clientele on the Greek islands of Kos and Korfu. For the main catering season we send students there for their several-month professional practice for the time period between Spring and Autumn. One of our Greek partners is the Lakitira Hotel on the island of Kos, and the other one is Chandris Hotel on the island of Korfu, with which hotels we have had a well-functioning and active relationship for years. Several students leaving ours school have spent their summer professional practice here in the past years. One of the main objectives of our recent tender is to maintain and to extend the possibility of professional internships abroad and to provide our students with these in the future, too. The continuous provision of this professional choice is the headline target of our tender. Both institutions are experienced, have international connections and have taken part in similar professional programmes, so they will be of great assistance for us to implement another successful tender. Our cooperation and commitment are represented by the general declarations of intent which constitute the Appendix to our tender. As for its details, our programme aims at simplicity and efficiency. Being experienced applicants, we build on the results and positive experience of our previous mobility projects (Leonardo mobility projects). Our project has been designed for one concrete period of the year 2016, the main catering season from Spring to Autumn. We aimed at two subgroups in the case of the target group consisting of young people taking part of professional training. One of them is the group of the secondary school students specialized in catering and tourism, who are doing their basic training session after finishing the 11th grade. We would like to ensure a 18-week professional training of 6 students from them in the Lakitira Hotel between May and October, 2016. The other target group of our tender consists of students taking part in the catering and tourism training of our school after their school leaving exam. We would like to offer opportunity of internships abroad to 13th grade students specialized as catering event organisers, tourism managers-tradesmen, waiters(resses) and chefs. We would like to provide 14 students from them with the chance of a 18-week hotel internship in the hotels found on the islands of Kos and Korfu. In their case the planned period is also between May and October, 2016. So we are planning the 18-week internship of 6 students in Kos and 14 students in Korfu. We are planning 1-week mobility of 1-1 accompanying teachers for both student groups. The total number of the planned mobility of the two student target groups is 20. Planning for the period of 2016 (Spring-Autumn) provides us with the chance of adequate preparation (6 weeks), continuous inter-project monitoring, and the professionally well-established assessment. The timing and the main steps of implementation of our project are contained by the Appendix. We believe that the national training system needs to be improved, so new and modern steps are necessary to be taken. It is our objective to provide our students with continuous vocational-practical opportunities in an international environment. In the short run we are expecting the strengthening of the professional and linguistic competences of the participants. Furthermore, we would like to integrate the contents of the project in the long-run professional strategy of our institution. It is our important objective to strengthen the vocational training and to develop a programme plan unique in the field of national education, which can set an example to secondary schools specialized in the same fields as us. We wish to play an outstanding role among the independent schools to integrate the system of foreign paractices and internships. An educational system is aimed at, which shows the way to modern national vocational training. It is our objctive to obtain the Certificate of Mobility, which could ensure our mobility programme for the future.
