The European Council ratified a comprehensive Treaty of Lisbon in 2007, in which the attention of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in different sectors of human activity (transportation, energetics, ...). The European Commission in 2012 also supported ECF's initiative Roadmap 2050 with main objectives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% - 95% by 2050.
