Federatia YMCA Romania pays a great attention to youth issues ,with focus on those related to exclusion, prejudice, stigmatization and marginalization of children and young people from certain less developed areas of the city , related to the attitude of the town towards those from rural areas or ethnical groups, or with low/poor income, the difficulties they face in the absence of equal opportunities and the importance and needs for an inclusive approach in the communities.To meet this needs , we created inclusive and relevant programs by bringing those youngsters and our volunteers together to learn from each other , to understand , to discover , to look beyond labels and prejudices and attitudes of exclusion , to conduct activities to realize and develop sense of tolerance and equality . Due to good results , we want to expand our range of programs to reach as more target groups with fewer opportunities , because the impact of programs will extended to schools , authorities etc. Because inclusion is a global issue , we included in the project with the 4 EVS volunteers ( one with fewer opportunities ) , 14 volunteers Romanians, 7 being with fewer opportunities (Hungarians , Ukrainians , Roma, coming from rural areas). 4 Youth Performers is an EVS project that brings together for 10 months in Baia Mare and its surroundings , 4 volunteers from Georgia, France , Ireland and Germany. EVS service begins on November 1, 2014 and ends on August 31, 2015 , the hosting organization being Federatia YMCA Romania . The project continues and develops the topic and inclusive approach of other EVS projects previously implemented . Objectives : to improve the skills of young people , including those with fewer opportunities, for their participation in democratic life in Europe and employment , active citizenship , intercultural dialogue , inclusion, solidarity; to improve the quality of youth work and cooperation between youth organizations ; to promote methods of recognizing non -formal and disseminating good practice in working with young people ; to create an international environment working with youth and linguistic diversity and intercultural awareness ; active participation of young people with fewer opportunities . Non-formal educational methods promoted and used in this project are : experiential learning , learning by doing , storytelling , role plays, simulations , moments of reflection , teamwork , coaching , a Class Divided , PhotoVoice , Human Library , using tools as : media, ICT , music , dance, theater , language and communication workshops , flashmob , games, summer camps , sports and outdoor, as we consider that non-formal education facilitates and leads to a learning process with a great impact on volunteers and beneficiaries , stimulating creativity , active participation , initiative and entrepreneurial spirit . Main activities: inclusive programs for children and youth in rural area( Copalnic Mănăştur , Suciu de Jos) , in poor urban neighborhood (Cavnic, district V.Alecsandri Baia Mare), orphanages , mentorship, Romanian language course , media workshops and ITC, TenSing, own workshop Perform 4 U , involvement in community projects , meetings with other NGOs . The impact will be felt on the EVS volunteers and Romanian volunteers, on children and youth from the rural community of Copalnic Mănăştur and Suciu de Jos , children and young people in a deprived area of Baia Mare and Cavnic , youth in orphanages , host and sending organizations, EVS volunteers families, local partners , community overall, Erasmus + and EVS, through the new skills , knowledge and skills learned / acquired , the awarenes of values , through the ideas of multiplication and continuity the project which will encourage and motivate everyone involved to grow, to take initiative to transform their communities and Europe a the better place. The development of inclusive programs foster the implementation of new methods and techniques, raising awarenes and understanding of the nature of youth work, diversity, solidarity, equality. We envisage a strong impact on children and youth and stakeholders the programs in Copalnic Mănăştur (80) Cavnic (30), the Suciu de Jos (20) in the deprived area of the city (20), in family homes/orphanages. (30). By organizing public events with children and young people from these communities, events at which the whole community will attend(authorities, NGOs, youth, a proper enviroenment for dissemination of results, results that can be taken by them and valued in another context or by finding a continuation of the program.
