Date du début: 1 déc. 2014, Date de fin: 30 nov. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our school would like to take the advantage of its successful and active international connections. Our programme is based on a nearly eight-year retrospective successful professional cooperation. In accordance with the title of the project and our work programme, we provide our students with the opportunity of learning and development in the field of catering in European-standard, 4-star work environment. From spring until autumn time we sent our students for a few months to Greece (Kos and Corfu) in four/five-star hotels for their internship to work. We have close professional relationships with two Greek hotels. One of our Greek partners is the Lakirita Hotel on the island of Kos and the other partner is the Chandris Hotel on the island of Corfu, which two hotels we have had a well-functioning, active relationship with for several years, since some of our graduated students spent their summer internship in the field of catering and tourism there in the past years. One of the most important aims of the present tender was to maintain this relationship and to expand and ensure the opportunity of internships abroad for our students in the future as well. It is our important aim to ensure continuous professional opportunities. Both institutions are experienced and have international connections and have already taken part in similar programmes, thus they can provide us help to achieve a successful application again. As for the details of our programme we stand for simplicity and efficiency. As experienced applicants we build upon the previous achievements and positive experience of our successful mobility projects. Based on our previous experience we were planning our project for only 1 period now, for the high season from spring until early autumn. We could only carry this out in the period of spring-autumn of 2015 due to the time restrictions of the tender programme. We have two target groups among the students who take part in the professional training. One of them is a group of students from the secondary school who are specialized in catering and tourism and are doing their basic training session after finishing the 11th grade. From this group we guaranteed an sixteen-week (4months) internship for 6 students in the Lakitira Hotel on the island of Kos during the period of June-October 2015. The other target group would consist of students taking part in our school’s catering and tourism training after their school leaving exam. Through this project we would like to offer an opportunity of internships abroad to 13th grade students specialised on catering event organiser, tourism manager-tradesman, waiter/ress and chef studies. Out of them 14 students got the chance of an 20-week (4,5 months) hotel internship in the hotels on the island of Corfu and Kos. In our case the planned period is between May and October of 2015. We were planning the internship of 6 students in Kos and 14 students in Corfu. We intended to plan the mobility of 3 accompanying teachers for one week each. The total number of the mobility of the two target groups is 20. The fact that we are planning for the year 2015, gives us the chance to prepare the students well, monitor them continuously throughout the project and for professionally profound evaluation. The schedule and the main steps of the realisation of our project were attached in the appendix. We think that our country’s training system needs reforming so taking novel and modern steps are necessary. Our aim is to provide our students with the opportunity of permanent professional practice in an international environment. We expect the strengthening of the participants’ competencies in the short term. Furthermore, we wish to incorporate the content of the project in our institution’s long-term strategy. We consider as our important aim to strengthen the vocational training and to develop a plan of a programme ensuring internship abroad, which would be unique in our country. This programme would set an example to other secondary schools, which are specialized in the same field as us. We would like to take a pioneer role among the independent schools by making abroad internships a part of our educational system. Our aim was to develop a training system, which could lead the way and set an example for the modern home vocational training.
