3D Democracy
Date du début: 1 août 2014, Date de fin: 31 juil. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

3D Democracy is a two - year EVS project that aims to empower young people to take a stand on youth issues, and trough concrete action, advocacy and raising awareness, to create an impact and improve the situation of young people in Europe. The project will be carried out by Nordgu – Nordic umbrella organization for organizations from Nordic and Baltic countries. The organizations focus on human rights and rights of young people in European context, based on European values and goals to improve youth mobility and professional growth of young people, using non formal education, voluntary activities and diversity. All Nordgu's member organizations are are alcohol-free, and consider alcohol a huge hinder for the development of society and for exercising human rights and equality. They are led and inspired by heart-driven volunteers that have the vision that the world should have more free spaces for young people to express themselves and more alcohol-free alternatives, where each individual can live to their full potential. Having this background, it is necessary to open new space for young people to express their concerns and to give them the skills to be able to shape them in a way that they can be used when communicating on political level and to raise awareness among their peers. By setting examples of good practice, the 3D Democracy will show young people that the decision makers are reachable, and that the young people have their space among different policy issues. In addition, they need to see that the politicians are ready to discuss issues of importance to the youth, such as unemployment, human rights violations and poverty as a result of the profit-led industries. Social media marketing and promotion, videos and creative campaigns will be constantly used in order to be attractive and user-friendly for the members and to raise awareness among the young population. We are looking for 3 volunteers to work with the staff in the office in Stockholm on the development of the Nordic umbrella organization and close communication with our member organizations. We would like to work with flexible and open-minded young people, willing to organize youth events, communicate with young people from different cultures, engage and contribute with ideas on the focus topics. The spectrum of the tasks offered in our project is very broad, taking into account that Nordgu is organizing many activities for and by youth on different levels of NGO work (policy, education, communication, grass root, communities). There are no specific requests regarding the knowledge and experience of volunteers. We are mainly searching for volunteers who can identify themselves with the goals of our organization and are willing to abstain from alcohol at least during the time they are doing EVS in the organization. The young people will exchange and gain knowledge on policies and practices in the different countries, as well as lobbying and communication methodology. Every month (both years) they will be preparing and sending newsletters, occasional press releases, daily updating web site and social media profiles. Daily tasks include administration and research for potential member organizations, facts, useful data, press clipping, grant possibilities, communication with member organizations, developing of our campaigns etc. The volunteers will at least once per year take a active role in organizing international youth seminar, international yearly youth summer camp for member organizations and a biannual congress. As additional outcomes, there will be a publication on quality assurance in youth work which will be spread in all the Nordic countries where we have members, but also in the countries where the project will be implemented. Our EVS project will host 3 volunteers for 12 months per EVS activity at the office of the Nordgu, placed in Stockholm, Sweden. The Service starts on 1st of September 2014 and 1st of August 2015 and will end on 31st of August 2015 and 31st of July 2016 accordingly. There are 7 partners directly involved in the project coming from Sweden – hosting; and Germany, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Latvia - sending organizations. The volunteers will cooperate with other EVS volunteers in our member and partner organizations from Europe. Moreover, the overarching topics of the project are European awareness, youth policies and youth work.
