LIFFe IS THE BIGGEST AND MOST ACCLAIMED film event organized by CANKARJEV DOM, the biggest cultural and congress center in Slovenia. The festival, which is held at 5 locations in Ljubljana and one in Maribor, is visited by 45.000 to 50.000 people every year. To make the festival even more visible, we will expand our presence by ADDING TWO DECENTRALIZED LOCATIONS: the city of Izola and the city of Celje.One of the Festival’s main achievement in a last few years is a COLLABORATION WITH PRIMARY SCHOOLS AND the UNIVERSITY by ORGANIZING WORKSHOPS and CONFERENCES. This Fall we will also introduce a specialized YOUTH FILM JURY. Its members will watch a selection of European films relating to youth problem themes and award the best film. As a member of ART CINEMA NETWORK, which includes 26 cinema theatres around Slovenia, we present the festival throughout the year by organizing special screenings named LIFFE AFTER LIFFE.To promote the festival internationally we already have signed agreements and share mutual assistance in programming and exchange of knowledge with many partners (Zagreb Film Fest, Brussels Film Festival, Izola Film Festival) and plan to continue these activities.LIFFe IS A COMPETITIVE FESTIVAL. Its PERSPECTIVE section gives young and unknown film makers the chance to win the main festival award given by our faithful sponsor Telekom Slovenia. With their help we have also organized sponsors’ corner where through THEIR VOD (VIDEO-ON-DEMAND) network people are able to see past festival favorites and winners.Every year we show more than 100 films, where more than 70% of them is EU production. To enhance the visibility of European films, WE INTRODUCED A SPECIAL LUX prize section in year 2014.The festival has very fruitful cooperation with NATIONAL TV, which has become the festival's media sponsor; the deal includes a special TV film program »LIFFE PRESENTS« where films from previous festival editions are programmed in the month before the festival.
