IFF Etiuda&Anima (awarded in 2014 with award of Polish Film Institute in the category „International Film Event 2013”), organized in Krakow since 1994 is the oldest international film event in Poland confronting the achievements of art and film school students from all over the globe with the works of the authors of artistic animation including professional, student and independent filmmakers. This year among events accompanying to international contest of animated films and student etudes there are: the annual award for the outstanding artist and pedagogue – Bela Tarr (Hungary), "Top Ten" – 10 best short and feature found footage films selected by Maciej J. Drygas, ”Animators’ Self-Portraits”: Georges Schwizgebel (Switzerland), Torill Kove (Norway), Andreas Hykade (Germany). Besides in the program there are going to be feature films made by the most popular Polish visual artists: Piotr Uklański, Zbigniew Libera, Katarzyny Kozyra, Anka and Wilhelm Sasnal. ’The Battle of the Sexes” – with participation of Signe Baumane and Bill Plympton will be a very attractive event. We are also planning different forms of workshops : storyboard’s drawing, 3D animation, Anidox – animated documentary, animation for adults, animation for children led by Anita Killi (Norway). There will be also a very special point of program: Signpost: Italian animation. Under the program we will present panorama of Italian animation chosen by Alfio Bastianci, student animations from Italian film and art. schools and promotion of book by Giannalberto Bendazzi „Animation. A World History”. There will be very strong accent of 23rd edition of festival put on an industry block, divided into two parts. First part will be directed towards the artists and animation producers, second part to young filmmakers looking for producers and co-workers for their next projects. In the evenings we are planning concerts, multimedia projects, banquets which are good opportunity for our guests to meet.
