The aim of the 21st century teaching methods and professional development project is to help our teachers be professional who have been working for 15-20 years about student-centered modern teaching methods given education in the teaching faculties of universities for about 10 years, develop their professional skills and provide them form creative methods according to changing student profiles, so; provide the students give their attention to the subjects , decrease the discipline problems because of traditional teaching methods in the classes. With this goal, by the decision which has been agreed at the teachers meeting , a project team has been carried out including 8 teachers who have been applying basically traditional teaching methods in their classes , have some difficulties on applying new comtemporary teaching methods because their knowledge and performing experience them isn't enough, have some discipline problems about making the students listen the subject. In project team including 8 teachers from different fields , there are 7 teachers who have never taken part in an international project before , but they are very enthusiastic about joining in projects. However, they heve been feeling lack of motivation as they have never had this kind of experience and their knowledge about Eurpean projects is not so much. The trainee teacher who is in the project team was a Comenius Assistant in Italian primary school last year. But she has some difficulties about performing skills and methods that she has learnt because she has been working in a high school ( there are mostly boy students between 14-18 ages ) for 7 months in our school. So, she has some problems about having discipline on students, make them listen the subject. As the result of the needs assessment in our school, all teachers have shared their ideas and decided about who will participate in the project. So, project team including 8 teachers has researched some courses by e-twinning and websites and they have found some courses about their needs. It has been planned that 4 teachers from Chemistry, Literature, Fashion-Design and Music fields will attend 'Creative Methods for Teachers' course in England-Exeter to enable them to develop creative methods appealing to different types of intelligences during classroom training, 3 teachers from Mathematics, Technical and English fields will attend 'Teaching through 21st-Century Methodologies' course in Prag in order to adapt to changing student profiles with today's modern and contemporary education and to develop their professional skills in teaching methods, trainee teacher will attend 'Creative Teaching in the Secondary Classroom' in England - Oxford to reduce discipline problems in classes and develop English teaching skills. At the end of the project , it is expected that the teachers will have some skills ; *The teachers will be able to decrease performing traditional teaching methods in the classes and be professional in European contemporary teaching methods. *They will be able to develop creative and various teaching methods in the classes which there are students having different learning styles and different types of intelligent leves. *They will be able to increase the students' motivation against the subjects taught and change their attitudes against learning and school. *The teachers who have been applying traditional teaching approaches in their classes will be able to decrease discipline problems caused by not being used appropriate techniques according to the changing profile of students. So, the quality of education in our institution will be improved. Thus; * The education which is provided by our school will be given according to the students' profiles and needs. *Students' participation in the classes and desire of learning will increase. *Truancy of the students will decrease and our institution will take place in one of the best schools in the region. With the dissemination strategies which have been planned by the project team and the school; * Other teachers in our schools, students' parents, other emplyees of other organizations will know the project and the impacts of project. *Our institution will follow the project about if there is any continuity of skills acquaired in the classes or not by assessments methods formed by our school.
