Carmine Biancardi
Carmine G Biancardi is the former President of Prestige Global Bahamas LTD, a Luxury Engineering and Hospitality Group in Nassau, Bahamas (since 2018). He is the former CEO and President of STR Europe Group (previously METTLE Group), the leading Logistics and Engineering group based in 7 countries between Europe, Americas and Australia (2002-2018). He has been a Senior Member of the Italian Government for the Ministry of Treasury 2006-2007. He has been a former Senior Consulting Member for The European Parliament and The European Commission and the Chairman of their Centers of Excellences and the founder of the MIF (The Maritime Industry Forum)
He has had several other appointments in International and European Professional, Research and Professional Bodies and Boards. He is a Fellow of SNAME (Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers) since 1985 and since 1990 a Member and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, UK and a Licensed Chartered Engineer. His past academic professorships credentials include, among others, also the US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, the University of Glasgow, UK, and the Australian Maritime College, Launceston, Australia, The Stevens Institute at Hoboken, NJ, Manhattan College, NYC, NY, The University of Tasmania, Australia and Universitas of Naples, Italy. He has published more than 180 papers, books and chapters in the area of Economics, Politics, Logistics, Engineering, Naval Architecture and Safety.
He has delivered hundreds of speeches in various topics and an invited expert in many TV shows and news, including cruise ships.
His education includes: PhD in Ship and Marine Technology (Naval Architecture) at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, 1993; Diploma of Communication at the Harvard University, USA, 1985; Msc (Dottore) in Nautical Engineering and Sciences, Universita degli studi di Napoli “Parthenope”, Italy, 1983; Diploma of Master Mariner at the Istituto Tecnico Nautico, Italy, 1977.
He is fluent as a native speaker in 3 languages: English, French and Italian, and basic Spanish.
