Topic Description

Specific Challenge:

This research activity aims at developing innovative numerical methodologies to address effect of defect in large aircraft subcomponents. First defect formation, location and densities occurring in the manufacturing phase will be investigated and integrated into numerical modelling in order to improve representativeness and prediction robustness from coupon to subcomponent levels. Additionally a probabilistic approach will be developed to complement numerical predictions with associated scatters of results.
