Who you are: Head of Remote Sensing and GIS Department and associate professor at the Space Research and Technology Institute, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (SRTI-BAS).
Your activity: applied research and education and training in remote sensing (RS/EO), GIS, landscape ecology, land use/land cover change (LULCC), environmental management, spatial data infrastructures (SDI), spatial decision support systems (SDSS), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), spatial planning, and multivariate statistics.
Memberships: Member of the Mission Board 'Soil Health and Food' (Horizon Europe 2021-2027, since 2019), GEO High Level Working Group (National representative, since 2017), Copernicus User Forum (deputy NCP, since 2016), EARSeL national representative (2012-2015).
Ongoing projects: Mobi4CAP (ESA-PECS), FP-CUP (EC), and national projects and initiatives
Cooperation activity: establishing 6 ERASMUS+ Inter-institutional agreements with entities from Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Greece, and Poland
