Codici is an independent non-for-profit social research organisation, founded in 2005 in Milan (Italy). It assists public institutions, third sector organizations or private companies, helping them cope with social change. Codici’s researchers and social workers employ the tools of applied social research to analyze emerging social and cultural phenomena, offer consultancies, training courses and technical assistance on specific social topics and policies, support project development and evaluation for innovative social ;Codici is focused on social intervention, mainly built up by and with all the people involved in the ;

1. Codici provides research activities: preliminary feasibility studies; documentation and review of relevant literature; sample construction, research design, development of questionnaires and other research tools; in-depth and focus group interviews, participant and non-participant observation, shadowing and implementation of qualitative field work; processing and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data; mapping of data and cartographic displays of urban transformation; detailed written, aural and photo-video reporting; communication and discussion of research data within the scientific community; audio and video documentation of research actions; creation of video documentaries, web documentaries, photo essays, public art performances and social investigations; multimedia narratives and storytelling of social change; dissemination of research results through symposiums, meetings, books, websites, cultural and social events, training seminars.

2. Codici carries out studies, inquiries and surveys in order to support the development of public policy and social action. Research, to us, is necessarily a form of social action. It implies the active participation of all actors involved in each and every step of the research process, that we strive to attain also by promoting peer-research experiences and by prompting trainees within our training courses to experiment with social research.

3. Codici creates training seminars, workshops and consulting for all kinds of professionals operating within the welfare sector (public officials and administrators, psychologists, social workers, educators and teachers) and for anyone whose professional activity deals with social change. We design refresher courses and professional upgrade seminars; we can turn classes into a research group, a planning session or an interactive on-line workshop. We design our training proposal according to our clients demands and in collaboration with academic institutions and other expert training providers.

4. Codici designs and creates social observatories, social information management systems, databases and other devices that may support governing complex welfare services networks, promoting a bottom-up approach in order to ensure that information gathering and diffusion is perceived as a participative process.

We assist policymakers and social or health service providers in gaining a more thorough and detailed understanding of specific social phenomena an issues, providing knowledge and expertise that will enhance policy design and implementation. We also provide technical assistance and innovation-boosting solutions for planners and program managers who implement public policy, and for all those organisations that need to cope efficiently with social change.

5. Codici produces evaluation designs for the assessment of projects and actions within the welfare sector.

We can monitor, supervise and evaluate projects, actions, services and research efforts acting as scientific referee, as member of scientific committees or providing expert consulting on specific methodologies, actions and the attainment of project objectives.

European Programmes in which Codici took part as project leader are: European Fund for the Integration of Third-country nationals (2013-2012); as a partner are: Justice 2014-2020 (2016, Sexual Harassment), Justice 2014-2020 (2015, Child rights), Justice Progress 2007-2013 (2014), European Fund for the Integration of Third-country nationals (2013-2012-2011-2010), Lifelong Learning Programme (2012-2011), Youth in Action (2008); as subcontractor are: Thematic Programme of Cooperation with Third Countries (2011), Executive Agency for Health and Consumers - Health Programme (2010), Thematic Programme of Cooperation with Third Countries (2008).
