The Municipality of Agios Athanasios is situated in the Limassol Region in Cyprus and has been active since 1986. The municipality encompasses an industrial area, has 8 schools and is a fast growing urban area.
As part of its ambitious growth programme, the municipality of Agios Athanasios is promoting a lot of initiatives and programmes self financed. Is also participating in projects co financed by Cypriot government and projects co financed by European Union.
The Municipality is actively seeking to participate in European projects and Initiatives that enforced the aims and the strategy of the municipality.
The Municipality’s main interests in terms of participating in EU and local programmes extend to:
- Environmental programmes and initiatives
- MED
- EUROPE AID
- Education /ERASMUS / programmes
- e-Government
- Cultural preservation and the preservation of heritage
- Industrial initiatives, programmes and policies
- Research and aid for the benefit of Small to Medium Enterprises
- Citizens for Europe knowledge, expertise and people exchange.
