World Cup Volunteers 2016

The project will take place during Mondiali Antirazzisti 2016 (Antiracist World Cup) from 22/06 to 07/07 in Castelfranco Emillia. MA is a unique non-competitive sports championship that was established in 1997 with an aim to fight racial and gender discrimination, promoting the values of sport and multiculturalism. The 20th, milestone anniversary will involve 48 young volunteers coming from France, Spain, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Poland and Latvia. The project foresees participation of at least 60% volunteers coming from groups at risk of social inclusion, notably the 2 identified in the 2012 EU Youth Report Young people NEETs and Migrants and ethnic minorities.The project aims is to offer volunteers a unique learning opportunity to obtain new skills and capacities in intercultural environment. Through the group participation in festival’s activities, the volunteers will develop a more positive attitude towards EU, increase their motivation for taking part in future voluntary activities and become young ambassadors of European mobility. They will learn new skills demanded at the labour market, increase their sense of initiative and self-confidence, develop tolerance and intercultural values and be more open to healthy lifestyle and to environmental protection. All activities foreseen throughout the project are based on non-formal learning methods, peer-to-peer learning, learning by doing. The volunteers will promote European mobility among participants of the event, especially during 2 conferences on volunteering value and recognition of non-formal learning organized during the festival. The volunteers will take part in different activities such as sport tournaments, animation activities, debates, summer camps, workshops. The participants will be provided with workshop on blogging and ICT means and will be invited to apply this knowledge in practice during the festival by leading a daily video-blog improving the level of key competences and ICT skills.
