The „Bridge of Voices” project has been prepared by two groups of young people from two neighbouring countries – Poland and Belarus. The distance dividing the two communities in geographical terms is small but in terms of economics, culture and social norms it is a huge gap. The aim of our project is to show that on the other side of that gap, there are people similar to us and that where there is a will there is also a way. The main goal of the “Bridge of Voices” project is mutual understanding between the two groups of young people form Poland and Belarus and creating a bond of intercultural and international cooperation reaching beyond political and economical divisions. To achieve that goal it is crucial to take a closer look at our cultures, history and the realities of day-to-day life of our neighbours. Due to the fact that our nations have taken very different paths, we believe that it will be an interesting process. In the course of our activities we will have numerous occasions to confront our views and beliefs which will undoubtedly lead to broadening our knowledge and horizons, promoting tolerance and respect towards different outlooks on the world. The foundation on which we based the idea of the project is our shared passion for singing. The core activity of our project is a youth exchange in which two groups of 20 people (one form Poland and one form Belarus) will take part. This exchange will be held between the 20th and the 29th of August 2015 in Murzasichle. From the very beginning of the idea to prepare the project we place at most concern in the equal participation of both groups on every stage of it. Working together we have prepared a schedule, that foresees 10 project days during which we will face many tasks together. Among the methods that we plan to use during the exchange are: -vocal workshops, -digital and traditional presentations, -working in different kinds of groups, -terrain games, -simulation games, -individual work and time for reflection, -moderated discussions, -oxford type debates, activities engaging the local community, -energizers and integration games. As a final outcome of our project, we want to prepare a performance together, that will show to the local public the traditional songs from our regions as well as songs we have learned throughout the course of our activities. We will also try to present the sole process of preparing and realizing the project in form of a short video. We are sure that it will be a token of the fruitful cooperation we had.
