Attracting female students in learning new computer programming technologies

TERMINÉ
The project title is "Attracting female students in learning new computer programming technologies". The main objectives of the project are:
a) To increase teachers' competence in new programming technologies
b) To increase opportunities in female students in learning about new programming technologies
c) To be given the opportunity to meet and communicate with colleagues from Europe
d) To decrease the gender stereotypes around specific subject areas, such as computer programming.
The participants of this project will be all the computer teachers of our school and all students of our school but mainly first grade female students. The computer programming teachers have acquired a minimum of a B.A. in Computer Science but they come from different educational backgrounds. They are all in great need of acquiring new programming knowledge due to the rapid changes in technology.
The activities that are going to be carried out are as follows:
September 2015 - November 2015: All computer teachers would have attended one course.
December 2015: During weekly meetings the two participants will share their knowledge with their colleagues.
January 2016: "Computer technology week". All students will be introduced to new programming possibilities. There will presentations and hands-on short seminars.
Preparing groups of students (boys and girls) preferably from first grade to participate in a game developing competition called "Logipegnion" by the University of Cyprus.

January 2017: "Computer technology week". All students will be introduced to new programming possibilities. There will presentations and hands-on short seminars.
